Medicinal plants have attracted the attention of scientists working in this field because these plants have been used for a long time to treat various diseases including psychiatric disorder, and have less adverse effect than synthetic and chemical medicines.12

In this review, we have mainly discussed medicinal plants with antidepressant activity

Asparagus racemosus (Shatavari)

Family: Asparagaceae
