Abstract

The Medial Temporal Lobe, also known as the Mesial Temporal Lobe structure, is most commonly involved in Temporal Lobe Epilepsy (TLE) which is a common form of partial epilepsy. Mesial temporal lobe sclerosis (MTS) is the most common pathology of intractable temporal lobe epilepsy. Electrophysiological and Radiological investigations using electroencephalography (EEG) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of people with epilepsy, especially temporal lobe epilepsy, are pivotal for definitive diagnosis and management. We present a case of a patient with headache and a history of seizure disorder in infancy and childhood whose brain Magnetic Resonance Imaging using conventional protocols revealed mesial temporal sclerosis.
